A change of Seasons
Dancing in the heat
Of the night
To the beat
Of tiny faerie feet
Honoring the last
Of the summer’s light
They dance & sing in such delight
Sounding the basins, beating the drum
As they sing their awakening song
For it surely won’t be long
All through the night
You can hear their call.
Waking up the faeries of the fall
Little feet begin to pound
As they all gather around
Yellow from the brightest corn
Brown from the tassels they have worn
Red & orange from the morning dawn
Hurrying before summer’s gone
Getting ready to splatter autumn paint all around
Dancing in the heat
Of the night
To the beat
Of tiny faerie feet
Honoring the last
Of the summer’s light
All through the night
You can hear their call.
Waking up the faeries of the fall

I always love your poems!
This was wonderful. It is fast approaching my favorite time of year, and reading things like this make me that much more anticipatory!
Thank you so much!
